Do you want to treat-your-self? Getting into the face masks game? You’re in luck. I have compiled my top 5 favourite face masks that work wonders!

Now, please keep in mind that I have normal skin, these face masks have worked for me. Some of these may or may not be suitable for your skin type. I will try my best to list suitable skin types per face mask down below. Please read ingredients and test a sample of these products before you go all in. If you’re new to skincare, check out this post for the ultimate guide to starting a skincare routine.

1. Original Skin™ Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay

Origins - Original Skin™ Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay 2.5 oz/ 75 mL Clean at Sephora Clean at Sephora

Skin types: normal, oily, combination

This mask is pretty perfect. It’s not too aggressive on your skin and leaves your face feeling fresh, smooth and firm. It’s my go-to mask when I think my skin just needs a little help. Everything you need in a face mask.

2. KIEHL’S Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask

Kiehl's Since 1851 - Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask 3.4 oz/ 100 mL

Skin types: normal, oily, combination

This mask is one of the few face masks I became obsessed with when I first started getting into skin care. The formula is strong and does cause *very little tingling* but the results are amazing. Although it is harder and messier to take off than many masks out there, this one makes your skin smooth and glow like the sun. As the packaging reads, it gives you that “mini facial” feeling. I would normally use this right before a shower to make it easier and tidier to remove.

3. Peter Thomas Roth – Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

Skin types: all skin types – normal, oily, combination, dry and sensitive

Now, this PTR mask is an essential. It exfoliates, peels and polishes your skin to reveal radiant skin.  The Pumpkin Enzymes are good for your skin as they work to remove dead skin cells and plus – this mask smells sooooooo good! How I use this mask: Pre-steam my face for 5 minutes , then apply this face mask. Continue steaming for 5 mins while massaging in circling motions. Rinse. If you don’t have a streamer, I highly recommend you get one (it’s life changing) or you can ensure you slightly wet your face before applying this mask.

4. Aztec Secret Healing Clay

Skin types: all skin types – normal, oily, combination, dry and sensitive

This might be the cheapest “mini facial” you can get. The result is smooth, firm glowing skin. It does make your skin tingle and blush pink after rinsing. Tip: leave your moisturizer in the fridge before putting on this mask. Apply your cooled moisturizer after rinsing off the mask. Your skin will thank you.

Warning: this is a very strong mask. If you have sensitive skin, leave on no longer than 5 minutes. Please follow instructions, although I would use this with only water (not apple cider vinegar) first to see how your skin reacts to it. Slowly add apple cider vinegar as you get used to the mask. Use after 5-7 days.  Always patch test.

5. Peter Thomas Roth – Cucumber Gel Mask

Peter Thomas Roth - Cucumber Gel Mask 5 oz/ 150 mL

Skin types: all skin types – normal, oily, combination, dry and sensitive

I cannot express how much I love this multi-purpose mask! This can be used regularly to hydrate, as an overnight mask, for face massages,  or even after an intense exfoliating mask to calm your skin down. It helps soothe dry skin and irritated skin. It is so light weight and absorbs well as if your skin was waiting for this!! This is a must-have skin care staple!

Let me know what you think of these masks or if you have any other suggestions. These are just a few of my favourite masks, more to come in future posts. I have used these so many times and they never fail to deliver results. However, your skin maybe different from mine; what works for me, might not work for you. So, ensure that you patch test first.
